Making the World a Better Place: The History of Girl Scouts in Paterson

On Exhibition March 10, 2019 – April 7, 2019

Making the World a Better Place: The History of Girl Scouts in Paterson, celebrated and commemorated the 100th anniversary of girl scouting in Paterson. Founded in 1919 by Miss Dora Goodbody, the Paterson chapter of The Girl Scouts USA was a fairly early club, forming only seven years after the national organization was founded. Goodbody would remain involved with the Paterson chapter for another forty-seven years, and her contributions were featured in the exhibit. The exhibit also included girl scout uniforms, camping equipment and badges from the 1940s through 1970s.

The exhibition was made possible with the generous support of the Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey
